Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished businessman and public servant is the vice president. Cheney, a well-known face in Washington politics, worked with four presidents from the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush picked Cheney to be his vice-presidential candidate in July 2000, citing Cheney's expertise and wisdom. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff to presidents. He also was a member of the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and served his country in many roles. Republicans as well as Democrats alike respect Cheney for his sincerity. Cheney says he is an unassuming but trustworthy adviser for Bush in his administration. Cheney has accepted the Republican vice-presidential nominating in 2007 stated that he was looking forward to being under a President who can work across political lines and cooperate with political adversaries by fostering goodwill and working towards a common purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney born Jan 30th, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska, the son Richard Herbert Cheney the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. After 13 years of age, old, he relocated with his family to Casper located in western region of Wyoming, where his father directed the district for soil conservation in Casper in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
