Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. The actress is an actress, singer and dancer. She began her Broadway career with musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford spent the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed directors and actors across theatre and on television. she will continue that work with several upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford is currently involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023, and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the musical. Ashford has been seen most recently as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over an Century. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS popular comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway performances. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
